  DUODENAL ULCERS

General condition information:

The pain caused by a duodenal ulcer is located in the right epigastrium under the sternum and is expressed in sharp spasms. Sometimes it relents when something is eaten. Often the first signs are spasms of pain, irritability and tenderness. A lack of mucosal protection is often the cause of a duodenal ulcer. As well as stomach pain, sufferers are likely to experience over-acidity, flatulence and abdominal distention due to wind.

Paying close attention to the diet, improving the digestive processes and supporting this with the use of phytotherapy can offer great relief from this painful condition.

Dietary advice

At the first signs of a duodenal ulcer, half a glass of raw potato juice diluted with warm water should be taken before breakfast. Drinking the juices of raw carrots and cabbage, and fresh fruits, will also be beneficial.

A wholesome diet consisting of plenty fresh fruit and vegetables should be taken. Foods such as crispbreads, wheatgerm, porridge and plenty of fresh salad are also recommended. For those who are very nervous and tired, a raw egg beaten with a little grape juice is ideal.
