| DYSPEPSIA & INDIGESTION General condition information:
Indigestion may only be a matter of burping, gas-formation or flatulence. Dyspepsia, which is mostly a follow-up, includes nausea, heartburn, upper abdominal pain, a sense of fullness and a feeling of abdominal distension. While indigestion may be triggered by eating too much, most symptoms result from an ultra-gastric motor activity. Sometimes nervousness or anxiety, fear or shock, constipation, smoking or alcohol abuse may lead to a severe dyspepsia problem. Nausea or heartburn may result which can lead to retention or regurgitation of good and a gastric acidity which comes up to the throat. Flatulence is the accumulation of wind and gas, and this is often experienced when there is unusual nervousness or fermentation in the bowels, when food is not properly digested or absorbed Dietary advice Using culinary herbs such as rosemary, fennel, aniseed
and sage can be beneficial, as can using fresh grated ginger root. A well-balanced
diet should be followed incorporating plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables
and wholegrain bread and cereal. Greasy foods should be avoided. Those
who are lactose intolerant should eliminate milk and milk products from
the diet also. Drinking chamomile tea and peppermint tea will also aid
the digestive system.
