EAR PROBLEMS

General condition information:

The ear has two functions: to hear and to provide balance. Both functions are very precious and highly sensitive. Unfortunately, both functions are also easily disturbed. The ear is not only a wonderfully developed organ, but also extremely sensitive to interference. Vibrations can easily upset the sense of hearing, as will be confirmed by many people who travel regularly by air.

In order for us to hear, the delicate nerve endings in the cochlea must be stimulated. Of the passages that originate in the middle ear, one is destined for the mastoid process, while the other leads to the Eustachian tube, ending in the nose. We often find that a blockage of the Eustachian tubes results in discomfort, and the change in pressure experienced while flying is more than capable of releasing pulp that can settle on a semi-permanent basis in these tubes. A catarrhal or fungal condition can also be the cause of such a blockage.

The inner ear, which contains all the nerve endings, is responsible for detecting fluid, while the semi-circular canals are the organs of balance. If we keep moving the fluid against the nerve endings it will stimulate messages to the brain. Many people experience balancing problems because something in the ear is not as it should be.

Dietary advice

Catarrh and congestion in the ears can often be alleviated by avoiding cow's milk and dairy products.
