FOOT PROBLEMS

General condition information:

We tend to take our feet for granted and forget that they carry the body, irrespective of weight, throughout our life-time. However, we tend to imprison our feet in unsuitable shoes throughout the day, eg. Sports shoes and stiletto heels. Therefore, it is not surprising that we are affected by fungal infections of the skin and nails, as well as problems with the circulation and, most common of all, excessive and unpleasant perspiration. It is easy to neglect the feet, but just think how often we remark or notice that our feet are tired.

Daily footbaths, oils, creams and best of all, walking barefoot on the grass, can all help to alleviate problems such as chilblains, burning feet, ‘sweaty’ feet, aching feet and athlete’s foot.

Exercise

This exercise has to be done each morning on arising and each night on retiring. At the side of the bed place a basin of cold water with a towel at the side. On arising in the morning, place both feet into the water. Counting to 10 remove both feet onto the towel as if trying to pick up a marble. Do this 10-30 times. On retiring carry out the same procedure as you did in the morning. You will find your feet will be as warm as toast when you go to bed. The importance of this exercise is that it should be done for a minimum of 60 days, if you want to feel the benefit. The above exercise may look simple, but if carried out as stated, will have a remedial effect.
