GASTRITIS

General condition information:

Acute gastritis is an inflammation of the mucosa of the stomach, the symptoms of which can be very sudden and violent.

Acute simple gastritis (exogenous gastritis) can be brought about by smoking, drinking, fumes, soapy products, bromide, quinine, very hot foods, bacteria and toxic matter.

Acute gastritis infections can be caused by flu, scarlet fever, pneumonia and other kinds of fevers.

Corrosive gastritis is brought on by swallowing strong acids, potassium, salts, mercury, zinc or lead.

Suppurative gastritis can be caused by stomach infections such as streptococcus, colon bacillus, etc.

Dietary advice

Highly spiced foods should be avoided as should citrus fruits and alcohol. Garlic is an excellent herb and if using large amounts of fresh garlic in your food is undesirable, garlic perles or capsules should be taken. Gastritis can be exacerbated and nurtured by a hyper-acidic environment and in such cases, drinking the juice of a raw potato, first thing in the morning, can be extremely effective.
