| MIGRAINE General condition information:
There are a large variety of migraine-type headaches. Many of these fall into the category of combined migraines, which can again be subdivided: a common migraine with classical symptoms, due to menstrual irregularities, or one in combination with abdominal problems. There is evidence that migraines may be due to a merely functional disturbance and cranial problems may even be at the root of the problem. The length of an attack varies greatly from a few hours through to several days. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pains, or pains in the neck or contractions of the muscles. A common migraine may be indicated as a violent throbbing pain in one of the temples, accompanied by nausea or sickness. Classical migraines vary and the symptoms or, as they are sometimes collectively called, ‘the aura’ of the migraine, can cause rapid changes of mood. Sometimes memory or speech may be affected and even hallucinations can result. Abdominal migraines do seem to be more prevalent among the younger generation. This could possibly be due to intense study or educational pressures. The condition is certainly caused by stress, which can build up for various reasons. It is very important that all the different symptoms of a migraine are observed before a diagnosis is established, until then, no effective treatment can be recommended. The most important task is to find the cause of an attack. Then the decision can be made on the necessary treatment, or whether it was an alarm signal indicating disturbances elsewhere in the body. Exercises Migraines caused by tension are mainly rooted in the failure to relax. Learn to relax. The Hara Breathing Exercises are excellent for releasing stress and tension from the body.
