Dee Shepherd

Dee Shepherd RGN. NDN Cert PG (dip) HRM LCHDip

Dee is a trained nurse with a long and varied background as a health professional. Having trained in Southampton, Dee worked in Leeds and then left the hospital wards for the community, where she worked as a District Nursing Sister in Leeds and Essex.
Dee then moved to Lancashire to become a corporate home Matron/Manager. She then relocated once more to the Southwest of Scotland where she has added to her professional experience and practice by training in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)and Mecial Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
She is particularly interested in using EFT/Medical NLP to assist with phobias, e.g fear of flying, traumas eg after divorce, pet loss, bereavement and the fear surrounding cancer and chronic illnesses that can lead to so many emotional problems for both the client, carers, the family and close friends. Grief (loss) issues are not always about bereavement. Research has shown that there are forty-three different types of grief, including loss of a career, loss of self esteem or relationships.
Given the current media attention to Alzheimers' and dementia cases, EFT and medical NLP can really help the carers deal with the loss of their loved ones as they knew them. This means that we can help the carers come to term with the fact that the patient may still be 'alive' but not as the person they knew and loved.

Dee is also a qualified practitioner in Life Coaching and with her other qualifications and background, emotional health coaching forms a large part of her work.

Dee is available for clinic appointments, initially, in Stranraer.
