Features and benefits of BetterYou Vegan Health Oral Spray

A vegetarian or vegan diet can be really healthy if it contains all the important nutrients and minerals from a range of food groups. However, anyone can be at risk of nutrient deficiency if they’re not eating enough of the right foods.

BetterYou’s Vegan Health oral spray has been created to fulfil the requirements of four nutrients which are typically underrepresented in vegan and vegetarian diets: iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D and iodine. You may not even be aware that you have a nutrient deficiency, as sometimes the signs can be missed, but this does not mean these nutrients aren’t important! Why use an oral spray?

Oral sprays such as this Vegan Health spray from BetterYou can be a quick way of getting important vitamins and minerals straight into your bloodstream. By spraying this complex inside your cheek, you can avoid losing out on vital nutrients which can often be lost in the gut. This is particularly useful if you suffer from digestive issues such as IBS or Crohn’s disease, as these can affect how well you absorb certain nutrients.

BetterYou’s oral spray is also unique in its delivery of all four of these nutrients which makes it more convenient and cost effective than investing in multiple different supplements. It fits nicely in your handbag or your pocket and is easy to take with you while traveling. What’s even better about this BetterYou spray is that it doesn’t need to be taken with food or water, and it can be taken at any time of day. Plus, it’s approved by The Vegetarian Society and its packaging is made from Ocean Waste Plastic!

Why are these nutrients important?

BetterYou’s Vegan Health spray contains iron and vitamin B12, both of which are found in red meat, as well as vitamin D and iodine which are predominantly found in dairy and oily fish. You could be at risk of a deficiency if you don’t eat a lot of these foods! But why are these nutrients important?

Iron

Without iron, your body will struggle to carry oxygen around your body in the bloodstream. This can leave you feeling tired, weak and light-headed, and iron deficiency is a common cause of anaemia. Plus, iron is important in the conversion of blood sugar into energy, so it’s no wonder you could be feeling weak and lethargic if your body isn’t getting enough!

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is important in the production of normal red blood cells, without which your body can also be left feeling weak and lacking energy. What’s more, vitamin B12 also plays a role in the protection of your nerves, by contributing to the production of the myelin sheath. Without this essential protection, nerves are more vulnerable to damage.

Vitamin D

We need vitamin D in order to maintain healthy muscles, bones and teeth. This is because vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining the balance between calcium and phosphate. If these levels are thrown out of whack, for example if vitamin D is in short supply, then conditions such as osteoporosis can arise.

Iodine

Iodine is used by your thyroid to make hormones which repair damaged cells, as well as supporting your metabolism and helping new cells to grow. A lack of iodine can lead to problems with the thyroid, and can result in a range of symptoms, from weakness and lack of energy to reduced concentration and alertness. Iodine is also important for keeping your skin and hair healthy.
